We are excited to announce the location of Miriam Academy, which will be ready to house our inaugural freshman class in 2016! Our new school will be located at 2841 North Ballas Road, St. Louis, MO 63131. We are pleased to be conveniently located near the intersection of Clayton Road and North Ballas Road, convenient to both I-64 and I-270.
History of Miriam
Miriam: The Learning Disability Experts, is proud of a legacy of service to the St. Louis community that spans more than 100 years. Miriam School started 60 years ago serving elementary students, and has since grown to include a middle school. Miriam Learning Center opened in 2007 to provide specialized services to kids with learning disabilities in other school districts and to offer a robust after school program. Together, Miriam School and Miriam Learning Center serve nearly 1,000 students each year.
About Miriam Academy
After much research and consideration, in January 2016, Miriam’s Board of Directors voted in favor of creating a high school. Miriam Academy will begin with an inaugural 9th grade class in the fall of 2016. The new school will educate high school students with learning challenges in an environment designed to help them excel.
Meet Miriam Academy Head of School Dr. Sue Jackson
Miriam is proud to announce the hiring of Dr. Susan Jackson as the Founding Head of School for Miriam Academy! Dr. Jackson comes to Miriam Academy with more than 25 years in both private and public education, with extensive experience in special education.
"After a national search, we are very pleased to welcome Dr. Jackson to this important leadership role as our Founding Head of School for Miriam Academy," said Miriam's Executive Director Andrew Thorp. "Dr. Jackson's vast experience and special education expertise are the perfect fit to help Miriam create a learning environment where students will excel," he said.

Why Miriam Academy
Miriam Academy will offer a high school program for students with learning disabilities, tailored to the strengths and aspirations of each student. Miriam Academy will serve students, with average to above average intelligence, who experience learning challenges in the areas of language, reading, math, sensory and social skills development.
Miriam Academy will continue the successful Miriam School educational model which offers a 10:1 student-teacher ratio, along with differentiated instruction and curriculum modifications to accommodate varied learning styles and individual abilities. Tailored learning opportunities such as internships and in-class experiences will incorporate students’ needs for both college readiness and career readiness following graduation.
